Munich -Luis Diaz made his debut for his new team, Bayern Munich . The Colombian winger's performance was praised by Die Roten striker Harry Kane .

Bayern bought Diaz from Liverpool in the 2025 summer transfer window. The German giants paid 75 million euros (Rp 1.4 trillion) to bring in Diaz.

Diaz made his debut for Bayern on Saturday (August 2, 2025), coming on as a substitute in a friendly against Olympique Lyonnais.

Bayern took the lead in the 52nd minute. Vincent Kompany's side scored from the penalty spot through Michael Olise.

Bayern were awarded a penalty after Luis Diaz was fouled by Clinton Mata during an aerial duel for the ball in Lyon's penalty area. The referee also showed Mata a yellow card.

The home side doubled their lead in the 60th minute through Olise's second goal. Diaz nearly provided an assist eight minutes later, but Serge Gnabry couldn't finish his pass.

Lyon reduced the deficit in the 83rd minute through Alejandro Rodriguez's goal, giving Bayern a 2-1 victory.

Diaz recorded a total of two shots on target, won one penalty, and missed one chance in his Bayern debut. His performance on the pitch earned praise from his teammate, Harry Kane.

"I thought he played well today. We're going to need him a lot this season. I'm delighted to have him. As a striker, you love playing with players like that," Kane said, as quoted by One Football.

"I think he's been very effective at Liverpool. He can make a difference. I think he'll make a difference here," he said of Luis Diaz.
